Culturisme.
Olivier a la cinquantaine, il est policier municipal en région parisienne. Boxeur en catégorie poids lourd, c'est lors d'un de ses entraînements avec le coach Eric Colette aux Buttes Chaumont à Paris en période de Covid-19 que je l'ai rencontré. Les impacts de ses gants sur les pattes d'ours d'Eric raisonnaient loin dans le parc ce qui m'attira. Je pris des photo de la session.
Plus tard, il m'a parlé d'une compétition de culturiste à laquelle il se préparait durement pour la remporter.
Nous nous sommes donnés rendez-vous dans la salle de musculation de Gerald Maestroni à Domont en région Parisienne. Très belle salle, avec des machines sur des centaines de mètres carrés ou des sportifs nationaux et internationaux viennent s'entrainer.
Le culturisme, ça m'évoque les péplums des années 60 "Hercules Against the Sons of the Sun" qui passaient à la télévision et aussi les années 80 avec le mythique Conan the Barbarian avec M. Arnold Schwarznegger.
J'avais envie de me plonger dans ce monde pour peut-être découvrir ce qui pousse à accepter l'âpreté et la souffrance de l'entrainement pour sculpter le corps "parfait".
Olivier is in his fifties, he is a municipal police officer in the Paris region. Later, he told me about a bodybuilding competition that he was preparing hard for to win.
We arranged to meet in Gerald Maestroni's weight room in Domont in the Paris region. Very beautiful room, with machines covering hundreds of square meters where national and international athletes come to train.
Bodybuilding reminds me of the 60s peplums “Hercules Against the Sons of the Sun” which were on television and also the 80s with the legendary Conan the Barbarian with Mr. Arnold Schwarznegger.
I wanted to immerse myself in this world to perhaps discover what pushes one to accept the harshness and suffering of training to sculpt the “perfect” body.
